A lot of children will be going on half term holiday and parents/carers will be twiddling their thumbs on how to keep these young minds active – not done by constant television watching and playing computer games. I will try and get the little, big man to be a little more creative – playing with his Lego, drawing or colouring and making up stories to name but a few. A creative mind promotes better health, self understanding, thinking and problem solving, reasoning and understanding of the world, it allows the individual to be more confident in their views and opinions and stimulates the imagination-several life learning skills that watching too much television and playing computer games don’t give you. I am sure there will be resistance to the creativity week holiday, as with all things, balance is the key. It is hoped that when little, big man goes back to school, he will have expanded his creative mind a little more.
